Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026. These terms apply to website design, development, hosting and managed services provided by North Jersey Web Designs, a sole proprietorship operating in Passaic County, New Jersey. A signed project agreement, where one exists, takes precedence over anything on this page.

Payment

• Standard build ($2,500): 50% deposit before work begins, balance due before the site goes live.
• Ecommerce (from $4,500): 50% deposit before work begins, balance due before launch.
• Managed plan ($500/mo): $0 down, billed monthly in advance, six-month minimum term, then month to month.
• Hosting: $150/yr with a standard build, billed annually. Included at no extra cost on the managed plan.

Additional pages beyond five are $100 each. Adding a blog is $250. Unlimited edits are included on the managed plan and available as a $50/mo add-on to other plans.

Refunds

You may cancel at any time before you approve the design and receive a full refund of anything paid. Once you approve the design, the deposit is non-refundable, because that is the point at which the build work is carried out.

Ownership

You own your domain name. It is registered in your name and you can transfer it away at any time without my involvement.

You own all content you supply: text, logos, photographs, and any other materials you provide or that are produced specifically for you as content.

North Jersey Web Designs retains ownership of the site's codebase on all plans, including one-time builds. On leaving, the codebase is available to purchase at a price quoted at the time. Because the code is standard hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no proprietary dependencies, a purchased codebase can be hosted anywhere and worked on by any developer.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you supply, and for holding the rights to any images, logos or text you provide. You are responsible for responding to requests for content and feedback within a reasonable time. Projects stalled awaiting client materials for more than 60 days may be paused and rescheduled.

Cancellation of a managed plan

After the six-month minimum term, the plan continues month to month and may be cancelled with 30 days written notice. On cancellation, hosting ends at the close of the final paid period. You keep your domain and all of your content. The codebase remains available to buy out as described above, and I will help you move to a new host.

Turnaround and availability

Standard sites typically launch in about two weeks and ecommerce builds in four to six weeks, depending on the size of the catalogue and how quickly content is supplied. These are estimates rather than guaranteed dates. Most edit requests are turned around within 48 hours.

What is not included

Google Ads management and social media management are not provided. Third-party costs such as domain registration, Shopify subscriptions, premium apps, stock photography and paid advertising are billed by those providers directly and are not included in the prices above.

Limitation of liability

Websites depend on services outside my control, including hosting providers, domain registrars, payment processors and search engines. I am not liable for outages, ranking changes, or losses arising from third-party services. Liability for any claim arising from this work is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in question.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
